The Center for Research in Multiscale Science and Engineering (CCEM) is a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) that promotes cutting-edge research in the field of materials science and engineering, focusing on three fundamental scientific pillars, aligned with the current priorities of European research and innovation programs: Health, Energy and Environment.
The Center is a multidisciplinary environment integrated by 8 research groups of the UPC at Campus Diagonal-Besòs, aimed at promoting cutting-edge research, developing innovative technologies, and optimising laboratory resources.
In April 2024, the CCEM was recognized as a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence, joining a network of top-tier research institutions driving scientific discovery and technological advancement.
Main tasks
- Support the Project and Innovation Manager of the CCEM-María de Maeztu:
- Organizing and coordinating events
- CCEM communications management (social media, press releases, content creation, branding, scriptwriting, etc.)
- Managing the center's website
- Supporting design tasks, audiovisual content creation, corporate presentation layouts, template design, etc.
- Supporting project management (communications plans, scientific dissemination plans, etc.)
- Support the Management Committee of the COST22107 and FROSBIT projects:
- Managing competitive funds and controlling project participants' expenses, coordinating with FROSBIT project participants regarding European project regulations
- Providing administrative support to the grant-holder
- Organizing meetings and communicating with project participants and stakeholders
- Disseminating research results through media and social networks
- Updating project websites
Required profile
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Audiovisual Communication, Business Administration, or a STEM field. Experience in scientific communications, knowledge of Catalan, Spanish and European research systems, and project management preferred.
Languages
Fluent in English. Proficiency in Catalan and Spanish preferred.
Required skills
Autonomy, proactivity, rigor, writing ability, creativity, high sense of responsibility, organizational and planning abilities
Digital skills
Office suite proficiency (especially Excel), graphic design and audiovisual editing tools (Canva, Loom, Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Quarkxpress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Premiere Pro, or others), and social analytics tools.
Knowledge of Google Analytics, SEO, SEM, WordPress or other web management tools will be valued.
